Boosting Mobile signal
matt.c - 23/11/10 at 10:11 PM

I always loose signal half way home from work and get it back a few miles away from my home. Can you buy anything to boost signal on my mobile. Im looking for a hands free devise for the car which boosts signal really.

Thanks

Matt

What network are you on?

If it is orange or t-mobile you can use the other networks masts now

If theres no signal when your mobile drops out, a booster wont do anything for you.

The Stannington dip on the A1 in Northumberland is well known, mobile drops out most days, some days its fine.

A change of service provider may be of more use to you.

Orange used to be very good in Northumberland , now they are pants and O2 is best.

I think you have to wear a colander on your head............

Theres a setting to allow the phone to piggy back other masts.... they did something to my works mobile ages ago and it roams across the other networks...its Orange. T mobile and orange are merging so that should help as well. Ask your network provider for the settings...they may not want to give them to you as it may cost them money

Tried the colander on the head and it works ....it has to be the cheap and nasty stainless (allegedly) one from Ikea that rusts

Buy a cheap 6150 nokia and the hands free car kit with aierial boost for your tax Disc. Then clone ye sim card.

I used this method till recently when t mobile joined orange n I now get signal all way home from Leeds to near Lincoln.

Ohhh note. Don't turn both on at once :-)
