Fitting propshaft?
Triggerhappy - 2/9/09 at 11:23 AM

Is it common that ford style propshaft /to flange is a bit of in hole pattern?

I have some issues in fitting the "smaller" PDC70mm type of ford flange on propshaft to mating flange...seams holes are slightly of.

YES i do relize the pattern has uneven spread of holes but when placed aligned, still differs about 1-2mm in CC??

Common or not?
How would you go about it?...file prop bolt holes or?

Nah, just use Gripfill!

Should be a perfect match really, if this is a part which you have bought then if it is practicle I would return it to the supplier.

The "small" ford flange is a standard 1140 series flange as shown 2nd from the top on THIS identification table.

If you can't return the part then I would re-bore and tap the flange correctly.

Sounds like you are trying to mix metric and imperial components, I wouldn't alter the holes, look for a correct flange, altering the holes could lead to vibration and failure.
