Hi

Can anyone tell me how much bhp i should be getting from a 1.8 zetec on bike carbs???

ideally id like to try and get 150bhp, is this possible?

I have a standard 2.0l zetec on zx9r carbs, when set up on rolling road gave 139 bhp. With adjustments about extra 10bhp is possible.
To get 150bhp you would probably need to change to 2.0l cams and make further mods.
Depends on how much you want to spend.

My mate has a Westfield with a 1.8 Zetec on Jenvey throttle bodies and MBE ECU.
The factory optimistically claim 155bhp for this install.
On the rollers it was 138bhp.
So your engine would seem to be right on the money for a 1.8

Mine had 155 at the flywheel on the rr once the carbs had been tuned. That was at Bogg Brothers.

Remember that rolling roads will vary and even a standard engine will give very lively performance in a 7

Ignoring rolling road differences, which as stated already, varies alot, only one person has quoted if their figures are at fly or wheel, which is a huge difference, transmission losses can be around 20%.
