Hi everyone, I built a Fiesta ST 2.0 duratec MGB a couple of years ago using a lot of home made stuff. Throttle bodies are motorcycle with home made
inlet manifold, exhaust is a standard Fiesta ST150 manifold 4-1, and everything else is standard. It produced 175BHP and 176Ft/Lbs on Dave Walkers
rolling road which I was happy with.
Now im building a new engine basted on another fisesta st one. I was to see 8000RPM and at least 200bhp. ive got a set of forged Cosworth pistons
(11:1) and am looking into a more free flow exhaust. Ill also be using 45mm throttle bodies (proper ones).
My question is, what con rods are people using as cosworth ones are extremely expensive, but if they are worth it then maybe I can not eat for a while
to afford them. Ive seen "Williams" motorsport ones on ebay for 300 pounds as well as other ones but are they worth it? Also what bearings?
Again ive found these on ebay

h=item3cdc82dc77
but are they any good?
And should I change my standard cams?
Thanks
ACL bearings are well known and should be well up to the job.
The Williams rods I have seen all over ebay etc. I hear they are heavier than standard rods but certainly up to the job.
This might be of interest to you

I've used Williams Rods in a couple of rebuilds, no problems as such, Andy is really helpful, specialises in scooby rebuilds, good reputation on the scooby scene. The rods are available rebranded from other repututable sourese elsewhere at more money so can't be bad in my book.
Im certainly interested in the Williams ones but what do you mean by "no problems as such"?
Thanks

Never had any experience of the williams one, was worried they were too cheap. went with farndon rods, IMO can't be far out with any farndon rods.
Why change the rods? I am getting 210 bhp from a 2 li Duratec with Kent's mildest cams, roller barrel TBS, ARP rod bolts, Raceline baffled sump and an Emerald ECU. Rolling road set up by Troy Robinson at Northampton Motorsport.

If your using it on the road in a light car 200bhp is the limit
Mountune 185 kit and 200 kit for Fiesta ST uses standard internals and keeps Ford warranty intact
Anything over and rods + pistons should be changed
I want to change the rods as I intend to do track days, and I want the engine future proof. Plus I already have the forged pistons.
600bhp 9000rpm £295

Have you used these ones before? Are they proven?
