Looks like i won't be able to make the 2nd either now, but because of work, not the weather. They're sending me to Alaska, where
it's currently -28 degrees. It'll make the Uk weather look like summer!
Best get me thermals on then.

Right!
Engine works fine, but front crank oil seal had to get replaced. (Easy job).
Electricery now works.
Brakes re-connected, and when I get some Dot 5.1 tomorrow will be bled as well.
Ballast redone to meet new MSA rules.
Seat will have to wait until after Mallory.
Anyone got any pictures of how to blank off the air filter gap in the bonnet to meet new regs? If so please email them to me at
richbrown@dsl.pipex.com (any size pictures are fine)
Thanks
Dickie

Some people seem to have put an ali "skirt" around the bottom of the filter so that the bonnet sits on it. Some have even put some foam
around the edge of that skirt to ensure a reasonable fit (and presumably reduce rattle noise)

Don't tell me, PKM have sorted all the new regs for you! Whilst I've been struggling for weeks by myself.

You're in for so much fun. Not!
Mine should be workable by Mallory, but certainly not finished!

Everything is now done, bar fitting the new seat. However I expected this, so still have the old seat (2 pack foam). Well chuffed. I'm at
Llandow on Friday to run the engine in....

Engine now well run in.
Dizzy cap and rotor arm needed replacing.
Fuel pipe needed remoulding to circular shape where some idiot had dropped the axle on it over the winter
Engine now runs happily to red line - oops, my mistake, there is no red line (except the water wetter in the coolant! )
It was so cold I had to tape over half the radiator just to get some heat into it.

There's a good question!
Most people say that peak power is about 5500
Most people redline at about 6500
I've seen 7200 on the clock when getting a tow down the long straight at Snetteton
Most people who've done 8000 have trashed the engine!
