L Assembly

For those who built their own race chassis . . .

Are the McSorley book plans of the L assembly the ones to use for the 750mc locost series? ie a 3" lean?

From searching the forum there's all sorts of info pointing to mistakes in the book, changing the amount of lean L has and/or moving Fu tubes that I've got my head in a knot thinking about it. The 750mc regs don't really clear it up either.

Thanks,

The Mcsorley 'book' plans are just that, the book plans but with tube lengths corrected.

From memory 3" is correct so go with that if that is what you *have* to do for the 750.

Cheers,
James

EDIT: The business of putting it an extra inch back is to get the upper wishbone brackets to fit better. But this is a modification of the book plans rather than a necessary 'correction'.
... if you see what I mean...

I am having an absolute nightmare trying to get the L assembly put together. Top and bottom rails done ofcourse, just the compound cuts on LA and LB are really causing me headaches. Can anyone tell me a good way of making these cuts? I am trying to use a standard chopsaw with angle set and then manually proping the bar up in the jaws to try and get the right angle. Not pretty!
