track days

Hi all, Iam planning on taking my part built middy to a few track days to sort a few things out.

I would like to know if I can take anything to a track day or are there regulations that I need to address on the car before taking. I know that the noise level has to be below 101 db but any others such as does the car need bonnets, cycle wings, lights and indicators etc...

Thanks

Julian

The car should be to a MOT or MSA standard, but if you phone the organiser of whichever trackday you're going to attend and what you are planning, they will tell you better than anyone else...

I did the same and took mine in nearly finished trim but no front indicators. Check out my avatar there

I'm sure you can do track days without most lights but would need a brake light.

i've been on trackdays where cars have no lights (inc brakes). The car doesn't need an MOT, there are loads around that are not road legal (like my old e30 325, it was a heap!!).

Give www.motorsport-events.co.uk a call, they are the cheapest and an airfield day would be ideal to test the car out

Hi or if the car is far from completion it may be easier to use a facility such as BRUNTINGTHORPE.

At this type of facility it will not matter what state the car is in as you are on a private test track hired by yourself. There is a simalar facility available at the Haynes motor museum. ( i think ) There is a forum member from here that has access or can arrange access ( i think ). Ill have a dig to see who it was.

Somebody must know who i mean .

Cheers Matt
