Rear axle and diff 750 mc

Hi guys,

I am looking to get a rear axle tomorrow and when I phoned today the guy asked what diff I wanted?

He also offered a stripped casing.

Would I be best getting an empty casing (ready to weld) and choosing a diff to suit what ever gear box i end up with or buying a diff tomorrow?

The rules specify that the ratios are free but what are the options?

Many thanks,

Dan

I would get a diff tomorrow and give it to Matt to rebuild with the solid spacer thing - for general use (if I recall correctly) if the gearbox is a type 9 get a 4:1 or if it's an Escort GT get a 3:9. 4:4s are good for some circuits but will cost you and don't work at a lot of them
