750mc kitcar series - are locost's eligible?
Been curious about this for a while really, but thought I'd post it up for discussion. The 750mc website states:
quote:
Vehicle Type (section 5.2)
Genuine ‘production’ kit cars, front or rear engined, specifically excluding ‘one-off’ specials. Chassis and bodywork materials and the design concept
may not be changed. Cars must be capable of passing an MoT test. ‘Add-on’ aerodynamics are prohibited.
A home built locost afaik is not a 'production' kitcar, though buying a luego locost/stuart taylor locost is. Would a completely
'book' locost be considered eligible? Presuably my 'book -but modified' dedion axle & stiffened chassis locost is
ineligible?
Discuss!
Ned.

I think I remember the regs on the 750MC site saying that if a locost was used it had to be a book chassis, so exactly the same chassis for the locost
class. What it doesn't make clear is does it have to use a 1300 crosslfow or if it can use any of the lumps allowed in the Kitcar class. There
is a Pro-comp racing, thats a locost chassis I think.
Here are the regs:

On the 5th page of the regs it mentions that locost can be used but a minimum of a 1584cc engine must be used.

my dedion axle, stiffened chassis wouldn't be eligible then?
It is to book dimensions, though has a few extra tubes in the floor and front suspension area (some of the cymtriks mods) and a dedion axle..
