Silverstone Race Format?
Just seen the final instructions and noticed the 2 Locost races are being split into 'fastest 30' and 'the rest', similar to
the 'final' and 'consolation race' at Pembey.
As there are 45 entries and Silverstone is allowed 30 on the track at once, isn't this a missed opportunity for the 15 racers who would have
moved from a heat to a final, and a bit more value to offset the high cost of motorsport?
Personally I'd prefer the chance to progress from a poor qualification through the heat to the final.
Just a thought.

This has been discussed at some length on the yahoo list, with almost universal dismay...
As a budding builder, hoping to get the car complete in time to do a few of the races next year it's a bit disheartening to see how the Locost
racers seem to be getting a bit of a bum deal from the club at the mo.
Tis a shame the way Silverstone has been organised, but I'm sure it'll be a good day anyway - I will be there watching & nosing around
in the paddock, so I hope it's a goodun.

The general consensus is definitely that the timetable is a big pile of @rse and that the 750MC are certainly not doing the formula justice at what is
supposed to be a 'Locost Festival'. It's adding insult to injury on a weekend where we are also no longer to be repaid our missing
race from Mallory which resulted from the delays in the Kit Car race.
The reasoning is supposed to be that we caused too many delays at Pembrey and can't be trusted to have a normal race format (where the heat
would naturally have to be earlier in the day and incidents there could mess with the timetable). The arguments behind this approach do not stand up
to scrutiny at all, and it is not fair on the competitors or spectators.
On the plus side, i do believe that the new format for 750MC race meetings this year has proven to be so comprehensively unsuccessful that they will
be forced to change it for next year. There will be a lot of discussion of how this should work at Silverstone so make sure your opinions are heard.

For what its worth - i have heard lots of bad things reg. 750MC, and its declined into a purely profit making machine for those involved.
Its a shame because i think it could and should be a good start for many championships, like our very own locost champ. You only had to read the
budgets part in a recent bulletin. Car racing clubs should not be solely about making money and *continually* reducing race durations to squeeze in
many many races. To my mind more different races in a day means the circuit hire costs etc are split more thinley i.e. our entry cost is less - this
is not the case - its a rip off honest!
