two rear differential questions
Morning guys,
My first question is will this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/sierra-4x4-lsd-limited-slip-diff-3-62-kitcar-hotrod_W0QQitemZ200270682711QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?ha
sh=item200270682711&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1299%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
fit in my rwd Dax?
and secondly can anyone make sense of these numbers off the back of my 7.5'' diff that I've just removed I'm after the ratio
and hoping these codes will reveal it?
85GG 4033 BA
90/22.
I've googled to no avail and not sure which numbers/letters count!

simply turn the input flange and count the number of turns you have to do for the outputs to rotate one revolution, probably something like 3 times so
that would be 3:1 etc
code number doesn't sound right and I think the casing is universal and not limited to just one type of differential inside. There should be a
metal tab fitted somewhere that has the ratio, unless that’s fallen off.
Fame is when your old car is plastered all over the internet

The tab has fallen off unfortunately.
The code is right though as per the following:
85GG 4006 DC --- 3.97
85GG 4006 BC --- 3.62
85GG 4006 AC --- 3.38
85GG 4006 FB --- 3.36
87BG 4006 GB --- 3.14
86GG 4006 AAA --- 3.92 LSD
V87BB 4006 BAA --- 3.62 LSD
V87BG 4006 CAA --- 3.38 LSD
85GG 4006 AAA --- 3.36 LSD
I need something accurate as its to be sold.

yes - its a 7" diff with 100mm CV's in the photo
If your need to be sure about your 7.5" diff - take the back cover off and count the teeth (or it might be writen on the crown wheel)

As said, if you remove the rear cover the ratio is on the outer edge of the crown wheel, if you are looking for a diff i have a good 3.62 lsd spare
that i took out of my car when i fitted a 3.38, u2u if interested.

If you removed a 7.5" diff from your Dax then a 7" diff won't be a direct fit,; you'll need some spacers since the width of
the mounting points on top of the diff are wider on the 7.5" diff

you need spacers (/washers) for both and slightly different bolts
the build manual has the details for the bolts and spacers you need (the kit comes with enough bolts & washers to do either)
