Buyer Beware rant

Reading omega0684 problem the other day causes me concern too. I am not ready to name and shame yet but what can I do. Ordered and paid for a Carbon Fibre Heatshield and Wing Stone Guards getting on for six weeks ago now. Despite many u2u's and e-mails and a few lame answers from him I am getting nowhere. If I paid on a debit card via pay-pal can I claim my money back. Why are people like this, I like many others work hard for a living and act in an honest and polite way. Then people like this come along take you money and give back crap service, faulty goods or nothing at all. This is not the first time it has happened to me, or many people on this site, even more applicable these days is BUYER BEWARE. Barry

im guessing that your talking about Echinda,

paypal will only look at a dispute upto 45 days after the transaction date, any longer and they tell you to get stuffed! FU**ERS!

get your dispute going now if you have already waited six weeks!

I don't think LBMEFM has said it is Echidna yet - and maybe Echidna should be encouraged to respond to the post?

I agree with naming and shaming, but only as a last resort. Every business has unhappy customers. A forum like this could ne misused to slag people that don't really deserve it. This is not a comment on this particulaar case, but I think it needs to be born in mind as we could be putting people out of business. Competion in the Market place is a good thing, and whilst the odd customer might get disgruntled over a specific case, there needs to be balance, after all we are not talking about caterjam here, but a small, usually single handed business who might be a bit crap at customer service but good at the skills we all want for very cheap prices. Easyjet treat people crap, but are cheap - if you pay skid money you can't expect rolls Royce treatment IMO.

I need to have a moan as well.

I bought a set of pedals from someone on here, they arrived and look lovely BUT any sort of side pressure and they bend like warm chocolate. I have contacted him and was told "I've not had any other complaints but if it's what wou want I'll send you thicker ones".

Well that was the middle of April and I've heard nothing.

LET THE BUYER(S) BEWARE!!!!

Nick

I also ordered a pedalbox from Edichna and finally got my money back after I've sent a complaint to paypal 2 days ago.

Took 5 months. He kept promising things and eventually stopt responding to emails and u2u's.

Good luck.

IMHO Edichna should be kicked of as a vendor.
