Time limit to registration after SVA
Is there a time limit from recieving the MAC certificate to applying for registartion and built up inspection?
There is no expiry date on the MAC certificate, and given the weather and the fact it will have to be stored at my dads an hour away, for now at
least. I am not in a major rush to get it on the road, so was planning to wait until the new year before registering it.
Pased SVA 15th September. Should have registered it straight away, but have been extremely busy at work. Poor excuse I know.
Why do it the easy way, when I can do things my way!

isn't it like 3 months or 6 months or something? best get it done asap, even if you have to buy tax for it, and then get it refunded back and
cancelled if you're keeping it off the road for winter

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

im pretty sure I read a while back when the whole SVA/IVA thing happened that the DVLA are only accepting MAC certificates till Dec this year - as the
IVA cert is called something knew.
Now, that is what I have read on a forum - so who knows if it is accurate, but definatly worth a call to Swansea vosa and DVLA to check it out and get
a reply in writing - imagine finding out you had to get it IVA'd! ek!

I seem to remember the same December deadline from when mine went through SVA.
Best check, I can only imagine how annoyed you might be if it expired!

Think a phonecall is in order tomorrow. I have all the paperwork, I think. (not completed it yet though).
Can anyone clarify what forms they think I should have?

SVA certificates (MAC) are valid untill 31st Dec 2009. After that you'll have to go through IVA.
Luckily for you it was extended from 31st Oct 2009.
Get on with it!
