After a couple of coolant upgrades/modifications on the zx12 engine, engine won't start (engine hasn't been running for the last 10 months!)
Accu is okay, and wel maintained with optimate charger. Maybe temp. outside ?? How can i check if the engine is getting fuel? (please mail/post picture with an arrow where is must check this) i dont have very much knowledge on engines!

what's happening when you try start it? Turning over, relays clicking, fuel pump priming etc?

when you put the ignition on you should hear the pump run for a few secs, and the relays should click. if you take a plug out and turn it you should smell petrol. try checking for sparks at the plugs too.
If you have sparks and fuel get some eezistart.
mine was a pig to start first time round, just from lots of crap building up in the engine. eezistart got it going.

starter motor rotates and looks like it rotates at normal speed. I hear a sound zooming/buzzing (difficult to explain in english ) and the sound stops think about a second later after i turn the key off.

your battery may have 12 volts but it could still be duff ,if the buzzing noise is coming from the starter solenoid then that's a sign of a flat battery or a poor connection

the buzzing is the fuel pump turning over as the starter does. have you got the clutch switch on? i think on mine if the clutch switch is off when starting it lets the pump and starter to turn but cuts the coils/spark. unlike the neutral switch that doesnt let anything work if its off.

this would be my first check.

Also its worth fitting an led on the diagnostics wire and a toggle switch so you can narrow the problems (future and present) down.

Sorry about my spelling, im an engineer and only work in numbers.

What is the clutch switch?

There are a number of interlocks on the bike engine to ensure it only starts if the correct conditions are met.

So, the clutch lever needs to be pulled in but obviously that switch went along with the switch gear so it was likely connected to ground by whoevere built the car, it may have come loose? You will need to find it, probably will need a wiring diagram really.

There is also a neutral switch as above which you can also attach to ground although most (including me) leave it off as it's a safety measure.

In addition to that there's a side stand switch which was probably also connected to ground.

Could be a duff relay or one of many things and the problem is there not neccesarily in the same place dependant on what's been done to the loom

The hose connected to the fuel rail has fuel flow as i have disconnected the hose, and put the end in a bottle, then try to start and it fills the bottle quickly with fuel.
Sparkplugs are okay, the give al a spark, and color seems to be okay, and are not wet, or greasy.
Also tried to start the engine with jumpercables connected to my daily use car, doesn't make any difference.

so what are my options now?

disconnect powercommander? as the zx12 tacho doesn't give a fault code, so the signal must be good to pc3 but if he fails and gives no signal to injectors???
How can i disconnect the powercommander 3?

Remove fuel rail and check the injectors? but i cant believe al the four injectors are fault.
If i open throttle max. there is no fuel i can smell in anyone of the cilinders.

measure the voltage at the injectors? how do i do that and in what range must the be?

thanks for al input!!

Sounds like you have no power to the injectors.

Most injectors click when they are pulsed, can you hear anything of that sort? If not you could look at the voltage going into each injector (the pulses are short so you need something sensitive to short pulses, like an LED with series resistance, and the right way around, of course). Voltge will be 12v in ~2ms pulses.

I don't know what cuts the fuel on a ZX12, but if you can confirm its no power to the injectors then you are on your way.

When i disconnected the powercommander the engine starts, so there is something wrong with it, bad grounding? or something else. There was not even 1 led going on, so no power to the pc3.
Is there a method to test it? or has is a fuse inside?
