Steering Bearing fitment
i bought one of those heavy duty steering bearings to help support my steering column but a silly question really,
how do you fit it?
i comes in 3 parts, the bearing itself and then two outer parts that look like they have to be mounted either side of the footwell panel. so you have,
bearing housing- panel- bearing housing with the actual bearing in the middle.
is this right?
Cheers

I dont think you need to sandwich the front panel - just the bearing between the two plates , and bolt the `assembly' to one side of the panel .
Its cuz I is blond , innit

as above, but don't tighten it all up untill you have everything lined up, the bearing will swivel a few degrees in the cups. I have these on my
car.

As above ^^
Instead of making the hole bigger I spaced my bearing out 10mm.

can I ask where you bought the heavy duty link?
I have just fitted a new one, but still has a bit of play.

This bearing is also used on go-kart drive axles.
Check out suppliers into this sport.
I can get them for around £10 each from my local industrial bearing supplier.
