Running crossflow engine
As above, my 1300 doesn't seem to want to start and looking for quickest way to get her on the road this year so does anyone know of any 1300 /
1600 crossflow's about?

you probably need to give a few more details of what happens when you try to start it.
But for what its worth, when i had a xflow, and all was wired correctly and sounded as it should, it did not start till i sorted the ignition timing,
which can easily cause trouble if you move/bump the distributer

Thanks guys, I will be taking this 1300 out and doing a quick once over before I give up on it - whilst continuing the hunt for another.
Are the HCS engines out of later cars like the mk4 escort compatible? Seen a 29k 1300 for £50 out of one of these but not sure if they are close
enough to a crossflow to ease change.

mine wouldn't start because the vacuum connection on the inlet manifold, that used to go to a brake servo was open. Started fine once sealed
