Im a bit cheesed off
Been racing my kart today. Had a really bad day. Weather was all over the place with mixed showers.
Managed to be well off the pace, crashed on top of another kart! Yes i did say on top!! Picked up a fair bit of damage but both of us were ok.
The final race was in the wet. Managed to spin it on the warm up lap then on the 2nd lap i avoided another kart crash and ended up crashing through a
tyre wall!! Hit it so hard i broke the tyre wall in half!! 
Another DNF! 
On the way home it poured down and soaked everything. Now have the kart in the garage covered in mud and water and with the all plastics destroyed.
Now feeling a bit down and gutted as budget has gone and have a trashed kart.
People say "thats racing" but at the moment it doesnt feel that way.
Gutted!

I think most racers have plenty bad days in the early days... chin up and keep at it.

Well at least you are ok mate 
The kart can be fixed up
Practice makes perfect as they say - wet weather karting is fun at the best of times let alone in a rotax engined one!

Thats what racing is all about, the bad days make the good days all the better
My first race of this year, £250 entry fee, £150 in fuel, 3 hours driving to Mallory, slept in the car overnight, then did half a lap before the
engine blew up - then drove 3 hours back home
Oh yes, then had to pay to get a new engine built and put in

Just be pleased you've not spent F1 money on a DNF! 
Mclaren: 400mEuro per season. Divide by 2 drivers, divided by 19 races = 10.5mEuro
So Lewis DNFs (probably 1 tiny bearing failure or something) and 10.5m is wasted!
Ok, I know it's not quite that simple but I'm trying to look on the bright side for you!

im sorry but racing IS expensive regardless of sport
if you cant afford racing then it should just be a hobby
i know its blunt but its the facts

I think you've been spoilt by having some reasonable "success" early on.
There is nothing worse than trying to race "on a budget" if the budget doesn't allow for things going wrong. For me, a good day was
when I could still drive the car onto the trailer at the end of it and I always thought duct tape looked much better than these fancy vinyls.
How mashed are the plastics? Can you not do a bit of soldering iron repairing? Failing that, drill holes either side of any bigger cracks and put some
cable tie "Frankenstein stitches" in. It doesn't have to look pretty for you to have a bit of fun.

New day, go and clean it and check it over - it's probably not as bad as you thought. If the chassis and mechanics are ok then broken plastic
is a small worry.
Invest in a tarp for transport and it'll stay cleaner in the future.
Finally remember 20:20 hindsight is a wonderful thing and in inexhaustible supply on forums

OMG thats really bad!!
Had a day at the BTCC watching them rubbing panels Made me feel much better about mine.
Managed to save the plastics with the aid of a heat gun and a load of paintless dent removal tools. Its about time my job skills came in handy at
home. 
Will check the chassis in the week and hope its still straight. Im just going to take it as a "Bad weekend" and get into the garage and
get it ready for the next meeting. This next meeting is my last one for the year. Im ending early this year to save funds for an engine rebuild and to
get a better funded for next year.
At least i can say i have had loads of fun in my novice year and am looking forward to next year. 
Once again thanks guys for the support.
