Think I have a disease!!!
Well, this year is coming to a close and I still haven't finished the bloody MK. This was going to be the year, but it's the end of August
and it's still on the stand 
March next year will be it's 10th birthday
So, has anyone got a cure for cantstopchangingititis?

2003-2010 for me
its not the changing bits. its the doing them wrong and they don't work, about 3 or 4 times til i get annoyed and leave it for some months

Humm, I thought I had that but it must have been misdiagnosed.. 2004-2009... we did move house 5 times, maybe that was the issue!

It took me 2 years to "build a sports car for £250"
all from scratch, and compared to some that was a long time !!

it took me 12 months!
How about stop changing stuff, get it on the road, enjoy it for the summer and tehn do mods in the winter? Mind you the summer had been very pooh so
mine mods have started early 
I love Pinto's, even if i did get mine from P&O!

My problem is that I make something that works, then 12 months later think I could have done better and start again
Then there is the technology/something better syndrome, I finished the steering and then discovered electric power steering. Finished the gear change
and then discovered Kliktronic.
I can't find anything I haven't altered at least twice, the record stands at 4 times.

took me just under 3 years - but since then I have taken another 3 Years to get it the way I want it and it is still not right.
Scot's do it better in Kilts.

Started building September 2008.

Woohooo - i love threads like this, going to forward it on to my g/f.
I started in 2000 ..... i'm still at it. If i could finish the damned kitchen i'd get some serious garage time in. I tend to make things
three times. The first time works, sort of. The second works perfectly but later on i find something else gets in the way, the third time works with
nothing interfering.
The other problems are i change my mind, from live axle to de-dion (for example) and find I just don't know how to do something so spend ages
pondering it.

I got my car on the road in about 2 years. Not that bad, but then after a year on the road I wanted an engine swap and it's been that way for
about 3 years and now that the engine swap is nearing completion part of me wants to strip the whole thing down to a bare chassis and get it
blasted/acid dipped etc!
The mental gymnastics a landlord will employ to justify immoral actions is clinically fascinating. Just because something is legal doesn't make
it moral.

Ash, I realised the first few paragraphs of reading your build that YOU ARE NOT NORMAL! The rest of us face more mental blocks than you do obviously
(I know yours wasn't all smooth sailing). But it DOES feel good to have things mostly done and driving, so everyone else, keep it up.
Mine is 3 1/2 years and my engine still doesn't run properly, and it isn't licensed for the road, but it has been at the autoslaloms a few
times, making it worth it.

ah, looking, thats what i call it. that makes up about 80% of my time i think... never got both the time AND money at the same time for this car...

2005, still on the stands, retiring again in November, heat will be on in the garage till next spring, and the car on the road (says he with fingers

Feel much better having read this! 
Started a 442 V8 build in July 2002. Since gone on the 'back burner' while I build a standard 'book' Zetec which I started
late 2007. 442 is scratch build but bought the chassis for the Zetec. Would like to have the Zetec IVA'd next summer. But then I say that every
year!
And yes, thinking, looking, pondering time definatley accounts for a large percentage of overall workshop time.

Ditto, feel better now too
Bought the book a year after it came out
Started the chassis June 2005
All on hold pending bad juju in marraige (not due to car)
Divorced Nov 2006 ( or ?)
Started again May 2007
On to wheels 2008 (married again too never learn do we)
And as of today got wiring loom to do, panel inside, fit handbrake and cables, fit fuel lines, plumb engine for cooling, fit rear panel, fit (and
buy) propshaft.
Then it's a case of the other 1000 little jobs to finish it ready for IVA
Still, getting there (as British Rail used to say)
It looks like the Midget is winning at the moment......

Hi, Im just about two years in and gave myself a kick up the arse and sat it on its wheels last week actually looks like a car (sort of) and one of
the boys said i only need to paint it.
looks about 75% there but in reality probably about half.
had hoped to do it in less than a year but as always too many other things get in the way.
and the kids always find me jobs to do when im in the garage (cause im not doing anything important) lol
