Fury towing point
I may well be being a bit thick but...Has anyone on here come up with a nice solution to the Fisher Fury towing point conundrum? I'm struggling
to find a way of doing it that won't potentially wreck the bonnet (le mans) or the radiator / oil cooler whilst being towed.

Phoenix has a U welded to the underside of the front rail.
It doesn't seem to wreck the bonnet.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Was it just me who read the title as furry towing point? I had images of part of a pink fluffly steering wheel cover hanging out of the bumper
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

I go through the grille opening on mine (also Le Mans bonnet) and have a U welded to attach to. Bit annoying having to unscrew the grille to reveal
the eye, but not too much of an issue yet!

If you're racing the scrutes will probably take a dim view - if
you're in proper gravel then towing via the roll cage will pull the car deeper. You need a tow point lower down.
My Fury has a loop welded to the lower front chassis member but it isn't visible or easily accessible and using it is likely to result in rad
damage anyway. I use a Schroth towing strap bolted to the bonnet hinge mount on one side.

Sure but in RGB we were specifically warned that it wasn't acceptable to use the roll cage and
that we needed a specific towing eye. They even started checking we had the requisite internal diameters on our eyes. I see single seaters are OK:
"19.1.3. There must be substantial towing eyes securely fixed to the main structure of the vehicle, front and rear, within the confines of
the body to enable the vehicle to be moved. Cars of periods A to F and single seater racing cars are exempt from this requirement subject to a
suitable towing point being clearly identified. Towing eyes must have a minimum internal diameter of 60mm. Towing eyes/towing points should be painted
a contrasting bright colour (dayglo red, orange or yellow)."

I just carefully went around the chassis near where the bottom right front wishbone mounts, just need t0 be careful that it goes under the
bodywork.
Jim Giblett had helpfully put a towing eye on the rear of the chassis on his Phoenix (that Lee now owns). It was used twice on this years Alps trip

He replaced the broken one in Laon with another light weight one (instead of switching to standard) and broke it again in the Verdun Gorge. Then
salvaged one from Hobseys car (that was coming home on recovery truck) to complete the tour.
