Saab 9-5

Folks, Unfortunately these hard times have caught up with me and I can't afford to run 3 cars (and the locost isn't being sold )

So I have a 1998 Saab 9-5 2.3 Ecopower (170bhp) for sale.

Near as make no difference 144K.
5 speed manual.
Climate control, Elect windows *4, heated Elect mirrors.
An a Massive boot!!

I brought it with a blown turbo, this has been replaced with a recon unit,
Whilst the engine was out of action the sump got dropped to inspect for sludge (a known Saab problem) with no problems found, there is a slight leak where the sealant hasn't sealed!
A updated breather kit has also been fitted to help prevent the turbo going south again.
It need 2 front wheel bearing for the MOT, that was all.

It has 10 months MOT and 4 months tax left on it.

There still is a noisy bearing at the rear but you can't feel any play at the wheel.

It's not a sportscar, the ride is firmly in the comfort zone

All this Swedish Luxary for £700.

The car is in West Oxfordshire.

NTDWM but that's got to be a lot of car for the money.
Have owned two 2.3s and they are pretty bullet-proof.
The problem areas are the ones that have evidently been addressed by Scutter.
Bottom end good for 300+bhp and chipping up to 250 dead easy.
Cheers, Pewe

scutter the noise on the back wont be the wheel bearing.

i had it on my car and after fitting new wheel bearings it still made the noise. its actually caused by too much camber on the rear wheels that cause the inside edge of the tyre to wear unevenly. the solution is to get the camber on the back adjusted and rotate the front and rear tyres.

my car has done another 40k since i sorted it an no signs of the problem returning.

Cheers boys, I did wonder what benifits that camber adjusting kit was for.

Saves paying £90 per side a bearing.

Any takers?

I thought he quite liked the comfort/speed/ luxury of them but his had too many niggly problems eg breather etc.
May well be interested in a sorted one.
Cheers, Pewe.

Pewe, I understand your concern, but the uprated breather was fitted as it was in a friends garage and i was a good price, not because it needed it.

If I was offered £500, this would be sold.
