It looks like your running the standard distributor ignition..... as you have a distributor sticking out your engine. The last photos look like coil
amplifiers.

I'd agree with deezee.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

The 20XE/C20XE has the ignition driven from the same ECU that does the fuel injection, so if you are running carbs then it's probably the
system from the old 8v Cavalier engine that's been grafted on.

ok - so it's not programmable, mappable and i can't do any tuning with it?
sorry chaps - just struggling to get my head round this ignition stuff.... How does this differ from say a megajolt, h&h or lumenition system
?
Many thanks in advance..

Megajolt is a stand alone ecu, can be mapped, will need a trigger wheel on the front pulley, and half a day on a rolling road to set up properly.
H&H are a company that will adjust your distributer so that it advances the spark correctly for carbs.
Lumenition are a replacement for the old points system, you don't have points.
Also there is MBE who are supplied by SBD motorsports who do a ignition only ecu, can be mapped and fits better on the redtop as uses the original
trigger wheel.
