Can you judge a map?

If i post a picture of my Power Commander map, would it be possible to tell if its ok or way out?

Had the 5PW R1 mapped but she doesnt purr at tickover and its running rich on tickover.

Ive rang the RR centre and they have told me to lean off the lower end of the PC map, which ive done, but now im wondering if the rest of the map is ok.

If you paid for a set up and its not right i'd be taking it back to them. If they can't do that right what else could they have done wrong?

post it up, I am sure folk will be pleased to take a look.

With regards the tune at idle, I wouldn't want to waste time on a RR with them adjusting the idle fuel settings as they normally work on an hourly rate, but I guess it depends what level of service you want to pay for.

The map for your car will be exactly that... Specific to your car. It depends on what model engine you have, your exhaust and manifold are like and whether you have an air box (and if so what thats like).

I'd send yu a copy of my map but it's on my home lap-top and thats playing up at the moment. I'll try and remember to try tonight. it might give you some idea how yours compares.

Indeed, unless you have all standard solutions and someone else has all the same, the best anyone can do is point out any obvious massive flaws that would affect any car. Take it back, tell them it's not right - you paid them to sort it first time round.

RR centre have offered to re-map but its a day off work to get it sorted.

As soon as the new plugs turn up and fitted, i'll warm her up and post a pic of the map.

Ok guys, the new plugs are fitted.

Started the engine (2003, 5PW, R1, standard airbox).... running for 5min in the garage, the tickover is now 1650+/-rpm.

Was going to plug the laptop in to take a copy of the map but in the laws tuned up and i had to call it a day.

Here's a copy of the current map (remember, its running rich at tick over and rough below 2500).

Your advise/opinion glady welcome....
