Hi Guys, does anyone know what the maximum wheel spacing you are allowed (wheel spacers)?

i have balls up again(i think). i got a set of wheels from a westy, fitted them and the tyre's are rubbing (at the back) so i fitted 2 sets of 30mm spacers 60mm to each side and its still not prefect. tonight i decided to fit my wing stays and fell foul again....... i think i need to add about 60 mm to the front as well. so i am now thinking of selling my wheels and buying new wheels..... but that cost MONEY
So i was thinking of wheel spacers unless someone can advice me if a little man in a white coat will say "thats not allowed" at the iva center....

I think the thickest I've made and sold which were bolt on were 75mm. They're a fair old chunk of ally, and it makes you wonder if it's not cheaper to sell the alloys and buy the right ones when you're spending £170.00 on a set of 4 spacers

Sound like you've bought wheels that are to wide and have to much offset (very large back space)
Sounds like they are Sierra offset (ET38) and are fitting to a live axle car that has a required offset of (0 to +6) Escort
If the offset is large and the rim wider than your car is designed for you could be adding a lot of backspace.
Plenty of people want Sierra offset so sell on and use money to buy the correct wheels.
Expensive spacers, 16 longer wheel studs, extra wheel bearing load.
You've bought the wheels and feel you must fit them come what may.
There wrong cut your losses and moove on.
