Edge Trim Sizes

A quick question for those people who have trimmed their car - what size edge trim have you used?

Measuring my Saturn bonnet and front wings, the thickness of the fibreglass varies from about 2.5mm to 5mm.

Measuring my Triton seats, they vary from about 3-3.5mm thick.

Looking at the Woolies website - http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-330-pvc-edge-trims.aspx

There generally seems to be three sizes available -
Round 0.5-3mm
Round 0.5-4mm
Square - upto 6mm edge

Are most people just using the 0.5-3mm and forcing it over the thicker bits?
I would like to use that size as I can then get some white to match my bonnet.

All advice gratefully received.

Cheers

Dave

As you are covering it with edge trim can you not just sand or file down the thicker bits ?

Sanding is a possibility - I am assuming other people have had the same issue so wondered what they had done.
