ARDS License
In a short while I am thinking of getting my ARDS license, a National Clubsport B license. However i'm not sure of the cost to complete it.
I know that there are lots of different aspects to getting it; medical, lesson(s),MSA pack etc. but have don't know what the average overall
cost is.
I am in Fleet, NE hants, so i was thinking the best place to do it would be Thruxton. Also how much driving tuition do you receive in a basic
(cheapest!) package.
Any information welcome,
Andy.

Hi Andy
From memory the ARDS 1 day course and assessment was £195, I did mine at Brands but I think the cost should be pretty standard. You can have extra
tuition but obviously this costs more and as long as you are a competent driver (which hopefully you are if you are thinking of going racing!) you
shouldn't need this. I'm sure it would be useful when you start racing but if you want to get a licence for the least cost it is not
needed.
The go racing pack is about £45, and a medical costs around £60, I just took my form to my GP and thats what he charged me.
The driving tuition consted of about 3 laps driven by the instructor who explained the lines and brake & turn in points. Then about 5 laps
driving with advice from the instructor, then for the last 2-3 laps he keeps quite and lets you drive on your own, if he is happy with your driving
then you pass!
Then you have to pay a fee (not sure exactly how much) probably another £40 or so for the actual licence.
I hope thats of some use!
Gavin
