Hi there

First of all you need to get a VIN number, I did this by calling into the local office and requesting one, 1/2 an hour wait then I came out with a letter confirming the VIN number allocated to the vehicle. You will not get it through the test without it.

Complete a IVA 1 form - Application for individual vehicle approval

and

Complete a IVA 4 form - Amateur Built Declaration

Include the following to support your application.

Reciepts for major components, such as chassis, suspension engine and drivetrain.

Some build photo's

Lastly photocopy everything in case it gets lost. You can send photocopies of reciepts which you need to sign as authentic copies.

If you opt to pay by card you should be called within a few days to obtain payment. The application is then passed on to the local IVA station who may contact you or send a letter with your test date if all is well with your application. Mine was ok and as described above.

Lastly hope this is helpful, all the best with it and hope it goes well for you.
