ROVER v8 loooooooow intake manifold?

Hi all,
I am MArco from the netherlands and all new here.

Also not really building a locost, but I guess with all these technical carbuilders this must be the place for me to stop by.

Basicly I built porsches 356, all low and custom, but now moving on to a new project: TVR WEDGE BASED 300SL..

As you can see from the pic, the intake from the Rover V8 needs to drop about 20cm for the front hood to be able to close (body will be mounted higher on the frame than currently in the pic. This was just to see how it would look like when it was fully dropped)

I was thinking of removing the EFI completely, getting a offenhaused dual port, of oem buick 215 intake manifold with 4 barrel throttle body with injectors. But still thinking that is still to low.

preferably I am looking at staying BELOW the rocker cover height.

So maybe an LT1-like intake?

or any suggestions on setups, carbs, etc is welcome, as long as it sits low :-)

thanks

ps.. sorry pics don't seem to work

You could certainly TIG up a LS1 style manifold, three inch tube down the middle with short runners and TB on the end, it's not going to help power, the only extra is a small water pipe to connect the heads with a small bore water bubble pipe to the expansion bottle.

power is not the main thing at this time.. Rather run with less power, than not run at all :-)

should the runners extend till into the tube (as long as possible), or just to the tube.

Don;t know how it will effect the airstream.

Short Bell mouths in the main tube if possible, something like 1/2 way down this page

Will you really notice on a 160HP RV8, if it's hard I would not bother.
