Gear change
Hi All,
I now have my engine cradle mounted and engine in.
Need to sort out a gear change kit.
I bought a modified lever to go onto the engine.
I have looked at cable kits that come with a gear knob as such but they are coming in at £180+vat which I think is a bit expensive for what it is
unless I'm missing something.
My car - Westfield
Engine - ZX9
Thanks

you need something like this I believe:
VW BUG BUGGY MORSE THROTTLE CABLE 9 FT BULK HEAD STYLE PUSH PULL CABLE
a push/pull cable (morse/teleflex etc)
then if you want a 'stick shift', just a tube with a pivot, knob on the top and the cable bolted below the pivot with a rose joint on
it
I think....

It was this kit I was looking at.

But not from MK.
Would I be able to shorten that longer cable?

No you can't shorten the cables yourself.
The cable I Got in the MK kit was way to long for my R1 install

Cheers, think I will get SKC to fit a kit when the car is down for the loom to be fitted.

Check out the MR2 gear lever and linkage. You have to modify it to remove sldeways movement but available for low cost !!
