Standard ecu & battery feed

I'm building a track car, currently using the standard ecu. I note it has a permanent battery feed but i want to fit an isolator that cuts all battery connections.

Does the ecu need the perm feed to retain trim values or will it not mind if i wire that to a feed that goes dead ?

many/most oem ecu will 'forget' the learned parameters if disconnected for more than a few minutes. you could give it a 'permanent live' though a very small fuse (say 50 or 100mA) (or perhaps a pp3 battery!)
but another key thing is to have a good chassis/ground to the ecu, and reference all sensors from that.
