Vicky Pollard is if anything understated -- the true british "chav" is worse.

some of the stuff raises a laugh

but the bloke needing to suck on his moms tits in Church is that really funny

I personally think were desperate for comedy in this country and everyone laughs at the drop of a hat

There penning a new spitting Image as we speak so Blair best get ready

long live real proper comedy
ie dads army
steptoe and son
only fools etc

Personally I do find the "bitty" sketches quite amusing...If only to see the shocked faces...
I agree that it's not 100% funny, although IMO it reaches maybe 85/90% which for a sketch show is pretty high.

Again, IMO, some of the older stuff missed the mark too....
Steptoe...agreed very funny
Only fools....ditto
Dad's army.....did nothing for me
Last of the summer wine...ditto
Are you being served...ditto
Morecambe and Wise.....Very funny

All just different opinions I guess...

A pity "Chewing the Fat" and "Still Game" don't get a wider audience they put "Little Britain" in the shade.

Yep very funny & nothing wrong with bitty.

The best sketch is with andy & Lou
"I want them" "what you want breast ?" "yeh" (come out of hospital with breast)
"I don't like um " "I look a pillock"

Erm...... at the risk of being called a philostene and ousted from the forum...

I don't get it.
ok vicky is worth a chuckle (the first time) but the rest? I am quite happy to point and laugh at chavs, but the only thing that irritates me more than chavs is un funny comedians.

Someone else pointed out the lack of decent british comedy at the moment and I would have to agree, apart from My Family and Coupling I can't think of a new comedy I've actually laughed at for ages.

Uk Gold is definately a good thing, long live blackadder etc

Who the f**K tightened this up!

Sounds like we have a Vicar of Dibley fan bet you liked Chef ! and the one joke Ab-Fab as well.

A lot of good inovative british comedy is comming from the celtic fringe where just putting a fat bird in a cassock isn't enough to be considered comedy ---- "Black Books", "Chewing the Fat", "Still Game" with a great void still left by "Father Ted"

The really clever bit is Tom Bakers voice overs and the ever changing place names.

I dont like it........... i want that one.

My gaffer used to live in a roughish part of Bristol and has assured me there are real life vicky pollards around.

My fave comedy programme that one. Ive got first series on audio CD (it was the Radio4 edition). Absolutely brilliant.

Tamsin Greig

I think she's good as a comedy actress along with Sarah Alexander. They are in The Green Wing on E4 but I really liked her as Fran in Black Books and have all of them on dvd. I never got into Little Britain or The Office, they both made me cringe.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

'The Goodies' - Now that was funny. (Remember the kitten sketch and 'Goodies and the beanstalk'?). Why do they not repeat them? They were as good as Python IMO.

I think 'Chef' was great as well.

Never did find Ab Fab funny at all.

Cheers

Mark

There was a goodies documentary on recently.
They were very funny. The reason they never got repeated seemed to be petty internal politics in the BBC after they defected to ITV. But the only reason they defected was the BBC had used the entire special effects budget on Hitchhikers Guide that year

Ecky-Thump!!!

Never met anyone who though ab-fab was funny after the first series (which was ok).
