Your Tricks for checking BEC oil level please
Who has the most cunning plan for seeing the oil level sight glass in their BEC, the one on mine is a real pain to see.
Thanks.
Steve.

In my car I can crouch on the floor and look through a gap between one of the exhaust headers and the ali skin through to the oil level glass....
before I found that I used a digicam as previously mentioned.....

I've got a dipstick, so it's no real bother at all. Just have to feed it past/round a chassis rail.

Thanks guys.
Both good ideas, cant get a camera down the hole but after a bit of jiggling I got a stick mirror down and a torch shining on it.
Cheers.

CEC Dipstick!
I use an inspection mirror...folds up nicely, telescopes and you don't get your (CEC Dipstick!) fingers all messy!

I can't see through the sight glass on mine at all. I've tried a mirror from all angles with a torch, in the sun, in the shade, pointing
up hill and down and level. One time I drained all the oil out and measured it. Only once have I managed to see the oil level in the sight guage.

Generally around the clutch basket area on the bike, so pointing forwards and low down in the engine bay of the average BEC.
Ive used to use a mirror/torch but the digicamera works better for me.

i never saw through mine either. So i just put new oil in after every trackday!
There must be a proper solution, like welding two elbows on and making a viewing tube or something.

On the ZZR1100 the sight glass is right next to the sprocket, so pointing straight down the transmission tunnel. Checking the oil level for me
involves an old Sierra rear view mirror, a torch and a portion of lying on the floor!
Let me know if you come up with a decent solution!
