Someone reckoned today you needed to be able to reverse for the SVA test so said I would have to get a reverse box for my BEC, is this true as I have never heard it mentioned before?

It's not true. I asked the same question on the MK owners club forum a while back. Many folks have put through BECs without reverse in the last year.
I'm not aware of any change in the rules with regard to this.

Thanks for the info, I went and collected my Blade engine today, should look great once cleaned up. Also visited MK and was very impressed, great bunch of guys and really helpful, excellent quality aswell.
