just got off the phone with vosa
they tell me that they havent recieved my recorded sva forms
she then asked where i sent it to i said 91-92 the strand swansea
she then tells me that vosa have moved
but they havent updated there sva1 forms
and it normally takes an extra ten days to come back to them
she also said that if it doesnt get there by the end of feb i could have problems because of change over in tests
any late people posting check your addresses
cheers
colin
Did they tell you what the new address was?
Time to take a trip to Swansea and sort it out.
Another p*ss take
didnt think to ask as mine are now in the hands of royal mail
Oh No....I sent mine there on Monday!!!
Lets hope they get there
No worries, I'll find it out and post it on a sticky...
Maybe
this is why they need to put the cost of the SVA up...
Looks like it's
VOSA
SVA Section
Ellipse
Padley Road
Swansea
SA1 8AN
(from the Dec 08 IVA newsletter on westfield's site).
Thanks for the heads-up!

RATS!!! sent mine to the wrong address Monday then! Singed for as well!!
Hi folks!!
just spoke to a lovely lady at vosa.
she confirmed that the strand address is wrong.
I stated i sent my app there on friday last week, and i was a little worried. she took my chassis number and found all my details though. she
confirmed it has been received and the it is with the technical deptartment (hopefully just waiting for the cheque to clear). she said it will then
get sent to chadderton test centre, who will call me to arrange a date.
if i don't hear anything, ring them on thursday and they can confirm exactly what its up to.
hope this helps put some folks mind at ease.
Martin
Bl**dy typical. Sent my 1 hour ago registered post to the old address!!!
Just called them aswell, I sent mine Monday (to wrong address) and they have just confirmed it is all registered on the system - so hopefully should'nt be a problem
sent mine on monday just hope they get them before end of month
Sent mine there (the strand) last saturday by guaranteed recorded delivery. I phone them up today to check if received. Yes it had been received and was in processing. I have a 'Z' number and just waiting to hear from the test centre now.

Anyone else think thats a bit of a con???
Changing addresses JUST before the last date for SVA... and then not telling anyone so the forms are "delayed" in the post... hmmm IVA money
vs SVA money..... incentive or what
I've just sent mine to the old address too!
Having just looked at the amount of work needed on my car though I should probably hope they don't get there!!
Neil
Sent mine out today to Strand too - recorded guaranteed delivery for Monday. I think I best guve them a ring on Tuesday to be sure it got there.
The VOSA website says nothing particularly special about the address change, so I'd say there'd be a fairly decent case to have your
applicaion accepted should they fail to receive it in time. If it happens to a lot of people, then there's very much a case for a big appeal.
and when did this allegedly happen

arghh f*ckin wankers is all I can say....sorry but thats disgusting.
I sent mine last friday. will have to call them and see if they've had it. There's no way I'm being forced into an IVA due to their
balls up
not happy about this!!!! sent mine today! they better fooking pull their fingers out and make sure the forms get to the correct dept.
absolute shambles. But I guess thats a typical government dept!! they are only working their for final salary pensions, the complete bunch of usless
DNA.
now now boys !!
i'm sure those really nice helpful chaps at vosa are all doing their utmost to assist us all in our persuit of a sva pass. The very nice testers
must, like the very nice vosa staff, be under extreme pressure with all of our requests to fit a test in before iva. We should all be very greatful to
them in our hour of need.
p.s. - my forms go off monday

hi all
they told me to ring back on tuesday and see if good old royal mail can pull one out of the bag
but i am putting plan b into play filling new forms in over the weekend and hand deliver if not there by tuesday
cheers

Another mug here who followed the rather complex instructions to the best of his ability...this paperwork lark makes the building of the car look
easy!!
I sent mine on Monday by recorded delivery to the Strand address and they were confirmed received (by someone) on Tuesday. I guess I'll have to
phone them up and check that it is in the system. I don't really want to have to go through all that printing again to provide the amateur build
declaration evidence and all the photocopying of receipts. Took me all evening on Sunday...
Cheers,
Craig.
Edit: Just called VOSA and was told that there is postal redirection in place so no delays in processing are expected. I quoted my chassis number and
was told that it wasn't on the system yet but that "doesn't mean anything". Was advised to call back on Monday as I will then be
able to speak to the SVA applications team to see where my application has got to.
Hopefully no cause for alarm just yet...

No problems, they have received mine and is now with the technical dep. and the VIN is on the system...
Dan
I just called at lunchtime and got put through to a very pleasant but clearly stressed gentleman who told me that they are receiving about 30
applications per day at present and to call back on Wednesday and he will look and see if my application has been accepted. He was politely trying to
get me off the phone as soon as possible if the truth be told, and didn't seem keen on looking up the status of yet another SVA application...
Most worrying, he said he couldn't comment on the need for receipts and photographs without seeing my application but regardless, any material to
be considered as part of the application must be received by Friday! I think I'm going to have to pull together a big PDF document full of
everything I can think of and have it ready to print and post if requested, otherwise I won't have time to respond to any requests for further
info.
This whole Amateur Built Declaration is a pain in the a$$ - I thought we lived in a society where you were innocent until proven guilty not guilty of
"kit-car fraud" until proven innocent!
Sorry for the rant but the suspense is getting to me...they've not even cashed my cheque!
Cheers,
Craig.
just spoken to a "very nice man" at VOSA. He said that althouhg my application wasnt on the system it wasnt a problem as they have a backlog at the moment because of the Feb deadline however if I had proof of receipt (sent mine by recorded delivery) for before the 28th then I would get into SVA.
[Sorry if I'm repeating myself but there are a few threads on the go about various aspects of SVA applications...]
Good news is that my cheque has now been cashed and I got a call from the Glasgow SVA centre to arrange my SVA test appointment. They said that 11th
March was the first available slot but to call and arrange something suitable. I've not officially heard that my application has been accepted
but I hope this means that it has been. I might get a letter tomorrow to confirm.
So 5 working days from Swansea receiving my application to me getting the phone call doesn't seem bad - I feel a bit foolish now for panicking
yesterday...
I hope everyone else gets their applications through okay.
Cheers,
Craig.
Looky you!!
i got home to be greeted by a letter from VOSA. its the amateur build declaration, asking for all my receipt and photo's etc. I thought i'd
got away with it!
So i called them and a nice man called Nigel said i need to send only 6-8 photo's covering the main stages of the build, and certified copies of
receipts for all the main components. BY FRIDAY!
though he did give me the option of e-mithering them instead, which gives me some scope to find things, scan them and send them off.
so just need to clean my pants and get on with it now.
Martin
PS. he did state "there's a bit of a backlog", but they've had no 'official' details of any extension to the deadline,
so friday it is!!
Sorry to hear that mate - that's pretty much what I thought might happen to me because I was unable to provide receipts for all my main
components. I had to go digging through Paypal to find receipts for bodywork and shock absorbers/springs which I bought from GTS Tuning. Luckily
Paypal goes back for years. I sent a total of 15 receipts for various bits and bobs but notably excluding the gearbox, diff and engine which I sourced
from local enthusiasts on a cash basis. I did state that in my covering letter though.
As you mentioned, make sure you sign each copy of each receipt to validate it as copied by yourself. If I were you I would email them and post them by
recorded (signed for) post. Watch out of emailing that the file size doesn't get too big otherwise it might get rejected by one of the mail
servers along the way.
Good luck!
Craig.
hi all
update is

i emailed them, and about 8 pics.
didn't sign a thing though. put a little letter on the email saying al receipts and photo's were genuine etc.
they caled me this morning to query a couple of details on the receipts and then said "thats all the boxes ticked then, we'll send this off
to chadderton who will be in touch to give you an SVA date!"
wife spoke to VOSA this morning and according to her were in their computer system now WOOO HOOOO panic over bum can stop twitching for a bit.
