SVA Rubber
Scoobythedog - 21/2/09 at 01:25 AM

I've seen a few cars with rubber tie wrapped over various suspension parts, what type of rubber is it, and were do I get some from ?

Is this suitable ?http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/rubber-sheet-black-1-5mm-thick-x-2m-x-1-4m_W0QQitemZ220365518112QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Flooring?hash=item220365518112&_ trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1686%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

And does it matter if the edges are scruffy ? does it just need to be softer ?

Cheers

Old inner tubes and or old coolant hose is what mine went through sva with. But bugger me the cable ties cut themselves and it all fell off when i got home.

But yes that stuff will do it. To save the ratty edges fold it under when u fix it on. then youl get a nice rounded edge. You wont need anywhere near as much as there is there though.

As above - old bicycle inner tubes are really useful (and generally free). Mountain bike sized for bigger bits and road bike sized for smaller things.
