Look out SVA here we come
Kitlooney1000 - 10/2/04 at 10:46 AM

Have just rung the local DVLA at portsmouth, and the lady sounded suprisingly welsh. Have to now apply in writing to them for a chassis number, and they are also sending out the relevent forms and info regarding the SVA test.

I will keep you posted.

Not surprising - every time you ring a DVLA centre you get diverted to Swansea...

After getting Wimbledon sorted, its now all change there too
Theres now a guy, who says hes been transferred from Brighton VRO to sort it out
It was OK in my opinion!!! It was sorted
Guess what? He sounded, very obviously Welsh!

the leeds branch people sound very welsh aswell - maybe they have filters on the fonelines that give a tinge of welsh and remove all traces of local dialect and accent?

Don't you have a local VRO office in Portsmouth? if so you get much better and quicker service from the counter but avoid the lunchtime rush.
My local office had a 'kit car'/SVA specialist who could not have been more helpful. Issued the Chassis number by return post and after getting the SVA I got an inspection the next day because I was dealing with him face to face.
Another thing when I rang the local VRO and got put thru to Swansea they said I needed a MOT for registration the Local VRO man said that 'was rubbish' and didn't need one

ben did you hear bleating in the background?

200mph - 10/2/04 at 03:14 PM

I reckon its because the welsh sound a little bit simple, so when they make a mistake you feel sorry for them rather than angry at them

No offence to any dragon-land dwellers

At least you guys know where you are diverted to. We landed up with a mortgage run by some nice people in Bombay. Six phone calls later they still had a problem that the couldnt sort.

Can I have one life policy and a balti with extra rice and a nan bread please.

We remortgaged and now Im building my seven. But we speak to newcastle in stead of MOMBAY
