Main beam question SVA
tomgregory2000 - 1/3/09 at 01:49 PM

Does the main beam need to flash when no other lights are on to get through SVA?
At the mo mine dont but they do when the lights are on.

Headlight flash is not part of the SVA like the horn.

Personally think you need it and want it to work with the lights off but not a requirement.

i need to sort this on mine too. can get my head round the wiring for it though. but if not a requirement, then its fine

i would like them to work with lights off but for now i dont mind, just want to get through sva and then finish bits off like the light flash in my own time, got my test a week on wed

I was asked to demonstrate low beam and high beam. There was no pre-condition about the state of any other lights or whether the ignition was on or off.
I did actually fail this due to a dicky switch so I only had dip beam.

Not sure if it's a requirement or not. I'd doubt it.
If you're using the std sierra switches with the later " switched to earth" switch then probably all you are missing is the brown link from terminal 15 on the indicator dipswitch 4 way plug to terminal 31 which is a flying lead IIRC 2 pin plug on the end of the lights/wipers switch block.

Don't blame me etc etc usual rules apply.
