I've seen so many cars on here that look (pretty much) the same but with different names i.e. Dax Rush, Indy etc and it led me to wonder, is there any copyright on this? Otherwise can I register a locost with any name I want e.g. Dave's sweet car made by Dave and Tom?
You can call it what you want within reason (ie think you would end up in court if you called it a Caterham etc). If its an MK, Dax etc then i'd
stick with that myself - calling it "Dave's sweet car made by Dave and Tom" might not do much for it's resale value!!
Call it that - go on i dare ya!! Post a pic of the V5 when its done
If you did call it that, could it be changed at a later date, or would that mean re-registration?
Nope, that would be it i think
Ill give you £20 if you call it that, and take a picture of the V5!!
As per any incorrectly registered kitcars still driving around as "Ford Sierra" etc, i'd think you would be asked to take a new SVA / IVA to change it's name
I'll think of something equally daft, I don't plan on selling it until I'm too old or infirm to drive it. It'll probably be a rusted heap by then though!
Let me assure you.
If the Zil mid engined car is built (starting later this year after the Sylva is out of the way), I can absolutely guarantee that the V5C will most
definitely have the make as a Zilspeed.
I first scratched the design out in 2008 and my initials are JF, so in best Van Diemen / Reynard / Swift fashion, it'll be a Zilspeed JF08.
That'll be a proud day when I see that on a V5c.
This only works with certain screen names though.
The Mr Whippy special doesn't scan at all well.
Could call it the Mr Whippy TR99
How about the "Sweet Ride" by Ninehigh corp?
Or Ninehigh carp so it looks like a typo
I have already got my name in the history books!
First, Bickell Designs F1-2 and soon to be Bickell Designs MotaLeira!
Seems strange seeing your own name on a tax disc!
Saw aTransit Van mounted on a ranger rover chassis with MODEL as "FUBAR" on the tax disc.
