Even after the sva it just seemed like another project But today after doing the paperwork and getting the tax disc while putting the number plates on
the car it suddenly hit me what I'd actualy done,,,
once you get through the DVLA bullshit and meet the guy at Chester it's quite painless,
NO MOT required asked him why and he said as far as he was concerned the SVA made it a NEW CAR albeit age related based on donor vehicle age. He
actualy said he couldn't understand why VOSA didn't do the whole process and just give you a slip to present to DVLA office to get tax as
they've just inspected the vehicle,
No you can't drive to DVLA the offence is failure to display also no number plates. Finaly a word of warning it's an offence to tow an
unlicensed vehicle all 4 wheels on the highway, suspended tow is OK. that came as a shock cos I'm always towing cars to the scrapyard
tony
Well done Tony - good feeling isnt it. I see you ruined the weather though!!!
I was told that if ANY of the towed vehicle wheels are touching the ground, the vehicle must be road legal. That's why companies use the slave dollies under the rear wheels when they suspend the front, or vise versa.
congratulations
"...always towing cars to the scrapyard..."
On top of that, scrap cars are controlled waste and you need a waste carriers licence to move them. If your ever stopped don't call it scrap!
