madrallysport - 7/3/09 at 08:57 AM

Is this needed for the sva test, I have a dash light working if my brake fuild is low, but do I need one to say the handbrake is on.

ps got my SVA date 9th May, so I have a little time to complete the car.

No, but you must be able to test the operation of the fluid light from the driving position. Wiring the handbrake light to the same bulb achieves this. Otherwise you need a test button.

9th May........U sure?

You def need a low level warning,
Not sure you need a handbrake light.

Yes you do (kind of!). You need some form of means of operating the brake fluid warning light from within the cockpit (to show that it works ok) and so if you combine the handbrake and brake fluid warning function in one dashlight, operating the handbrake enables you to do this.
This is achieved by wiring the handbrake switch in parallel with the brake fluid switch.

Oh yea 7th of may (not 9th typo by me), sva has been extended, the guy I contacted about the date at the sva center told me the government legislation hadn't been passed yet, so at present he can offer dates up to end of May.
