Lets say for example i take my car back for its re test, they can only test what it failed on yes?
I need to move my headlights out and want to make an extension to mount them on out of a bit of angle that may have sharp edges.
Now as i have passed the external projections test they cant fail me on it can they?

They will *probably* only test you on the fail points. But they don't have to.
Bob, for example, had a fill re-test as the guy who test the normal examiners was there on re-test day. So a full re-test was done.
i would say they can, because they're testing the headlight being moved out, and also the method on which they've moved.
for example, the rest of your external projections are fine, but suppose you go to the retest with razor blades all along the fron't of your
wishbones and bonnet, he'd fail it again, he couldn't just turn a blind eye

why don't you just cover the sharp edge up with some rubber edging?
Surely just wait until after the retest to do the mods? That way you're not running the risk.

Under normal circumstances they'll retest the items you failed on. They mey also test anything that you might have had to effect in order to fix the fail items; if you'd stripped the suspension to remake wishbones for self centering, then they could recheck the front suspension. They can also retest anything they think you've changed. My tester said "Don't change that steering wheel untill after it's retested".
Couldn't you just move the Luego Lamp mounting brackets outward, they look the same as mine and mine went through on position fine. When I
originally positioned mine I placed the mounting plate almost to the edge of the chassis so that the square plate edge was parallel with the chassis
rail, then I just used foam tape up to the plate so that I got a nice even looking mounting spacing (if that makes sense.
If this picture helps
Engine bay so far
Oh and the plates are held down with counter sunk screw bolts

those square plates are the headlamp mounts? what are the headlights from a spaceship, those are massive brackets, can't you cut them down?
