Passed Whoopppee!!!

Passed my retest today at Carlisle. I only had one area of concern on the retest as the others were a doddly to fix and that was the speedo accuracy. It failed with 185 x 70 x 13 tyres so I fitted 185 x 60 x 13's and it got in by the skin of my teeth. 35 at an indicated 35, 40 at 40, 50 at 50, 59 at 60 and 69 at 70. Phew!!! Went down to DVLA but they couldnt process the application as their inspector doesnt work on a Monday! They went into melt down when I said I had already got a registration number. "You cant have one" she says. "I do" says me and showed her a letter issuing me with a Q number I got from them 18 months ago. The reason they stated in their letter was that as the build had already taken over 9 years and the case (Yes, I also have a case number) they were issuing me a number. So I bet that cocks the system up as well. Anyway, the screen will magically re-appear and the Sierra wheel will drop off and be replaced with a Mountney version. Unfortunately the 60 series tyres look a little lost in the rear arches now so........!!!???

Anyway heres the obligatory cheesy grin photo.

I made the screen/mirror mounts from some 8mm plastic sheet bought from a company called directplasticsonline.co.uk
I made a 6mm ply pattern then machined them using a copy router and then rounded the edge with a self guided quadrant router cutter.
