Krismc - 16/4/09 at 03:02 PM

ive had to toe out quite a lot to self center- will i fail for this??

Ben_Copeland - 16/4/09 at 03:06 PM

I'm guessing no, as long as it still drives ok

wheel alignment isn't part of the test is it? i don't think it is... if its not, then you should be fine. if my tracking was 8mm out yesterday, and i didn't realise, i don't think it'll be an issue

has your VortX got Sierra, or Cortina front end?

when MNR heard i had failed on no self centering they told me that none of their other cortina based front ends had failed on self centering before...

now i dont know if that means none have failed with correct toe / tyre pressures or not ?!?

The only dynamic test the car goes through is self-centering so as long as it passes that, then there's no problem!! You can have stupid amounts of toe-out making it drive like a dog but as long as it passed self-centering there's not much they can fail you on re dog-like handling!!!!

As far as I'm aware it needs to self centre and have the wheels covered, so it shouldn't make a difference to you, only way I can see it causing problems is if you put huge spacers on the back that pushed the wheels out past the arches....
