Starting SVA test and allowance for driving home
Findlay234 - 17/4/09 at 09:28 AM

A week left to SVA and im getting worried. I think im unjustifiably worried but im still worried all the same.

What are they likely to turn you away for at an sva? no bodywork? engine not running? ......

What are the reasons you are not allowed to drive back from test? Is it brakes and steering?

car has to be complete and drivable,if it is deemed dangerous they can slap a pg9 on you
where is your test?
its a bit like giving birth....lots of people do it so it cant be that bad.

Are you driving there ? Not getting there on time or not enough fuel left in the tank are two reasons so fill up before you go in.

Are you speaking from experience, John?

Rather difficult to test emissions on a non running engine

Fortunately everything works..... for now..... but just thinking about things like if the brakes arent biased correctly or not powerful enough (needing bleeding again etc)
