Not a problem yet - But

During the SVA the only emissions test my car had to pass was the 'visible smoke' test due to the old crossflow.
The VRO issued an age related plate but the V5 shows the 'year of first registration' as 2004.
Question is when MOT comes around next year will he perform the emissions test for a current engine or how will he know that the car only requires a 'visible smoke' test? because anyone can transfer an old plate to a new vehicle.

Anyone had an MOT on an age releted plate and had trouble persuading the tester not to apply the new emission regs?

You don't need an MOT for 3 years - (according to my local VRO)

Congrats on getting the car on the road.
Just wondering if you plan to get another seat belt for your victim seat. (perhaps the ejector seat came with belts)

Well done

First set of rear tyres replaced in two months time???????

Cheers

Thanks- Very observant but don't worry about the other harness the car SVA'd with one seat and the photo was a 'pose' after we returned. The passanger seat wasn't was bolted in and we didn't go anywhere. Likewise the steering wheel was quickly changed and a screen fitted - all in the SVA game

Nope, you don't need an MOT (as per Wimbledon VRO). When your car tax reminder comes, it shouldn't ask you to show an MOT.

Just curious, but what age is your engine?

If your car has an age related plate how will the MOT tester know that it was first registered in 2004?
Just wondering about this myself because i will be in the same position.

Any self built car only has to pass the visible smoke test on mot, whatever the SVA test might require, you may need a cat for a post '95 engine, but the visible smoke test still applies for mot.
