I need to change my fuel tank, since the long-range tank I originally purchased for my Fury will apparently protrude below the rear valance - which I'm not happy about. But my question is should I go plastic or aluminium?

Someone mentioned that there is doubt about whether IVA will accept a plastic tank - although I've not had this confirmed. I also hear that plastic tanks can be prone to leaking around the connections. Any thoughts?

Also, if I need to go aluminium, does anyone know where I could get one made, preferably in the Guildford area, and how much I should expect to pay.

for iva plastic tanks need to have paperwork and markings etc to say its safe for use with fuel, similar to plastic fuel lines i think, ally tanks are exempt from that

I got mine from AllyFab - not local to Guildford (Derbyshire!) but delivery was painless. Will build to your design.

I believe that plastic tanks will have to be certified as 'fit for purpose' for IVA. AllyFab's ali tanks come with a posh-looking sticker that shows their name, plus 'tested to xxx bar', which looks good to the tester!

Up to you IMO, lots of new OEM cars and bikes have plastic tanks. Just wouldn't recommend trying to make one.

It'll be homolgamation that allows the use so your probably going to have a bit of difficulty locating one that fits your motor.
