jpindy3 - 20/5/09 at 03:43 PM

got up to micham ok loads of time to spare, the car was fine, apart from the carbs poping off the rubbers, and i think the timing is very slightly out.
the inspetor was a very nice bloke, highly recomend micham as a place to get tested,
i got a list of 7 things to sort out all miner the bigest thing is to move the fuel pump,
booked a retest for to weeks time.

jamie

Sorry to hear you failed, BUT -look on the bright side.

7 points of failure - you now have a concise list to work through.

Bottom line is - all points are minor - you are going to pass on the retest, no problem.

go for it !!!

blakep82 - 20/5/09 at 03:54 PM

ooh, are you the first IVA'er off here?

richardh - 20/5/09 at 03:54 PM

well done anyway

blakep82 - 20/5/09 at 04:03 PM

if you are the first IVAer off of here, i think to come away with only 7 fail points after the problems you had last week is a great effort mate

jacko - 20/5/09 at 04:18 PM

Well done looks like you been the first with the IVA test you will have to put a list up of what others need to pass the test
IE was the side panels ok / did you need to panel under the dash and i have been told that if the brake calipers stick out the wheel rim [ inside ] it will fail
This is only what some one has told me so may not be true

i will make a list, the side repeters have to be mounted on the front wings, panal under the dash is not needed, you need to list the waight and make of the car on the chisis number plate,a sticker showing what brake fluid it takes,
thats some of the changes made,i will do a list

omega0684 - 20/5/09 at 04:31 PM

just u2u'd you mate,

sorry to hear that you didn't pass but good to hear that you only have a minors list

you'll be able to sort i over the weekend i guess, a couple of weeks gives you time to even plan your after IVA mods,

p.s no worries about the manual buddy, thats what we're here for

snapper - 20/5/09 at 04:59 PM

Sounds a promising start to the IVA for Locostbuilders.
Lets get a list going of who passed with what car and what points were fails etc.
We will soon build up a list of contentious points to look out for
Well done on a few fail points, sounds like no real issues either.

scotlad - 20/5/09 at 05:06 PM

7 fail points not bad at all- you're almost there! Well done you

well, thats kind of even better! (for the rest of us at least ) that you've essentially followed SVA and got a better result than many first time SVAers who had the manual

Daddylonglegs - 20/5/09 at 07:29 PM

Nice one chap!

Won't be long now then? All we need is a good summer!

A list would be great so all of us who have yet to have the pleasure of the IVA can stand a better chance.
