Had my retest this morning, failed again
Failed on non self centering.
drove my car last week to sort out emissions, drove to the test centre this morning, all fine. Booked in, told to drive to the SVA lane, got back in
the car and no power, everything was dead. Mega pissed, so I bypassed the immobilizer and all worked fine, so this failed as well, but eay to
repair.
To all you R1 guys out there PASSED THE EMISSIONS just though LAMBDA=1.02 with just the CAT on. So an air bleed system isn't really
need on these motor's.
Things are looking good for Stafford, just got to sort out how to do the self centering, and then get it registered.
oh and this time gave the car a bit more death, loads of fun, very very quick.
Good luck chris with your retest next friday ( fingers crossed for ya ).
self centring, increase the castor or toe out...
Ned.
Hard luck that.
Loads of toe out aparently for self centreing, dont drive it too far like that though or youll scrub the tyres. Pity you couldnt have adjusted it at
the test centre.
Easy fix though
unlucky j30fos. better luck next time
any use?
better if I attach it!
John,
3rd time lucky mate. Won't be long.
Just got back in from ATS, the steering was way out.
THE CAR NOW SELF CENTER'S , took me dad out in it, he's still shaking not sure if thats from the cold or the performance.
Looks like its just the immobilizer to sort out and thats it. Going to re-book the test on Monday
All jobs sorted now, going to book a retest for tuesday wednesday. Keep you all posted
Increase the toe-in (try 3/16" to 5/16" -- under no circumstances should it have static toe-out !, also try lower tyre presures to get
the self aligning action of the radial tyres to work.
If you can increase the caster angle top steering ball joint should be behind the lower ball joint --- on MK wish bones you can do this by
flipping the to wishbone over.
Arrghh!!
Toe in / toe out
Mick
I'm off to buy a book. Any suggestions ??
Keep them clean.

good luck with the retest dude ,hopefully see you next sunday woohoo
Toe in, is when the front of the wheels are pointing inwards view from above and toe out is the opposite. Best way to work it out is to look down at your feet. Put your toes in, thats how your wheels look when you have toe in! Simple!
I thought this was toe in:
or is that wrong? Don't know who it is but it works...
Madonna's "toe in":
Careful!!!
