Handbrakes
blakep82 - 15/9/09 at 05:23 PM

A quick one coz i'm on a break from work, posting this on my phone, what diameter cable is considered ok for handbrakes? Is it 2.5mm?

Also, i've got sierra calipers which normally have a closed hook fitting on the end, but would a clevis with a pin through it to make a similar fitting be ok maybe? The original mini had a clevis with pin fitting iirc...

Photos when i get home at 11 tonight.

i need to get cables made up by someone. mine are to be too long to use any normal standard sierra ones modified.

i've seen a company who are a lot cheaper than speedy cables, but in case they can't come up with the exact fittings, just wondered if any of these would do

can't see why not, but have a word with an AA man they have a huge kit of cable and fittings including sierra type ones that they use for clutch and throttle cable get u home repairs. the fittings are held onto the cable by 2 grub screws, had no problem with SVA using them
This is the firm that supplies the AA
