Got my SVA retest booked for October 22nd but still waiting for Honda UK to supply 'proof of engine age' documentation. They stated that it
could take 28 days or more but it has been at least that and a call to Honda customer services confirmed that they are still waiting for Japan to
supply the info.
Haynes shows the engine number as 1995 model year which wasn't acceptable to the SVA tester as he wanted proof it was pre August 1995.
Now looking for alternatives.
Spoke to local Honda dealer who said they could do it but was unsure as to what info I required that would be acceptable for SVA.
Has anyone got a document that was SVA ok that I could use as a template?
Does the engine code as opposed to the engine number give you any more proof (if it's stamped on the engine itself that is)?
if there is a stamp on the block is it mentioned in the haynes at all what year it was manufactured? I know it does for the r1 engine.
I can't quite believe that Honda UK are waiting for Japan to supply the info. I reckon they're fobbing you off with that one cos
they're too lazy/busy to check on the database and write the letter. Explain to them why you need the information and that you have given them
sufficient time to produce it. I assume you've already paid for it?
Unfortunately the Haynes manual only gives the year of manufacture and not specific month.
Phil
you have an e/mail sent
hope it helps
