Hi all,

Saw this on Pistonheads just now - basically, the Govt wants to stop motorists who've been acquitted or found not-guilty in the courts from claiming back their reasonable legal costs. So, rather than fix the problem of putting innocent people in the dock, they're just going to make people pay for it - this is just going to mean that people who would previously have challenged motoring offences may not, as they'll end up having to pay for their representation, even if they win.

I thought that was a joke when I saw it on PH....

Its basically saying that if you are accused of a crime you have no rights to defend yourself... and if you do use that right you will be punished for doing so.. its a joke..


and signing the pettition will do NOTHING.... we no longer live in a democracy!

Why are the laws against the motorist the complete opposite of the usual judicial system?? e.g. A speed camera snaps a car with your number plate on it, the owner is guilty until proven innocent, Murder a father of 2 by kicking him to death in broad daylight because he happened to be walking down the street at the wrong time, you are innocent until proven "beyond doubt" guilty
